“Greg prepared our son, who was living overseas and attending school in complete immersion of a foreign language, for his UK 11 plus exams. During a very stressful time for our son Greg was patient, creative and resourceful in his methods. Our son didn’t want to do the lessons, struggled with concentration and railed against having to do extra prep at every opportunity. Greg returned after each challenging session with fresh ideas, determination and his innate ability to relate to our son on his level. Over time they built up a real camaraderie, trust and respect.
Our daughter is now working with Greg and she always leaves the lesson a different person; full of energy and feeling proud of what she has achieved. Greg is a complete natural at tapping into the inner resilience of our children that we, as parents, may not so readily see in them. Without mollycoddling either child, he honoured their need for context: (“What is the point of doing all this study anyway?” or “Why can’t I just do it this way? I get the same result” etc.)
Greg is expert at extracting focus and results from the children when they don’t even realise they are doing it. He is deeply experienced and therefore well able to pivot from a lesson plan that is not working in the moment.
The net result of our son’s time with Greg is that despite all odds and some seemingly impossible weeks with our son he was offered places at both of the schools we had pinned our hopes on.
