You wouldn’t be the only one. 11+ writing is meant to be hard, and it often catches parents out.
It’s not always clear what to help with or how.
That’s why I set up the 11+ Creative Writing Masterclasses.
By the end of this 4-week course, your child will feel confident and secure in the basics of 11+ creative writing.
And you’ll have the reassurance of knowing you’ve given them the right support.
My groups are limited to 6 students, enabling me to give focused attention to each child.
I know how to ensure rapid progress – I’ve got nearly 10 years’ experience as a teacher.
Your child’s weekly homework will receive a voice note with targets to help them take the next step.
If you miss a session, or if you want to review anything, lesson recordings will be available.
This student’s teacher at school got very excited about his writing progress…!
After working with me, this student saw a surge in his school-assessed English grade – from a C to an A* – to the delight of his parents and teacher.
This student had repeated ‘light-bulb’ moments in our sessions together, and was enthused and excited to attend more and keep progressing.
It’s for children who want to be set up and ready for their 11+ exam.
Your child does not need to be sitting a creative writing 11+ exam to benefit from this group.
It’s for children who are already doing well at English— those working at ‘secure’ or ‘greater depth’. These kinds of students thrive in my sessions, because I’m able to offer them more challenge and engagement than what’s possible in a school classroom.
If your child is finding English to be a struggle, this group might not be the best fit. I am passionate about helping children, whatever their current level, so please do feel free to get in touch about 1:1 support instead.
Yes – please take a look at my Google reviews, or the testimonials above. They’re almost all from families that I tutored online.
Yes. The groups are deliberately small—maximum six students—so I can give each child time and attention. I have a wide range of methods to keep children engaged and
participating. As well as this, I give personalised audio feedback on homework each week, so your child will have their achievements celebrated and next steps explained on a very regular basis.
If I have any concerns, I will get in touch very promptly through WhatsApp or email.
I also check in at the end of the block with a written summary. As one parent noted:
“We were provided with feedback along the way and had opportunities to discuss the progress.”
If you have any concerns or questions at other times, I am available and very responsive on WhatsApp.
My lessons aren’t tailored to specific schools, and that’s
ok: the skills I teach are applicable to a very broad range of schools. If
your child is preparing for an 11+ or entrance exam that includes writing, my
lessons will almost certainly help to boost their scores.
Indeed, many children who are sitting for Grammar schools,
or for the ISEB Pretest also benefit from these lessons. English skills in one
area always improve English skills in another.
We work hard, and the expectations are high. But it doesn’t feel heavy. I keep the energy up. One review put it best:
“There was an element of fun to the sessions which helped her engagement without compromising on the work.
I charge £40 a session. You’re free to pay for just one session to ‘try me out’. After that, payment must be made in advance for the half term.
Once payment has been made, it is non-refundable, unless I cancel sessions.
I record each session (just me on screen, not the students) and upload it along with the slides. That way, your child can catch up if needed. The recordings stay available for three weeks.
You book your first session, and your child attends.
If it’s not a perfect fit, and you decide not to have any more sessions, then you’ll pay nothing.
